Why not start with six. The biggest bug in the game I found is that all of your party members often do not like to fit on lifts/elevators/gondolas/etc, which makes for some very aggravating time wasting. I thought that doling out one more member each time through was a little weak. Not a bad game the first time through. I don't mind mashing buttons and watching characters grow, but it is just that. I found myself finishing it out of principle, oh and to see how many sets I could get together.
With the plot already revealed twice, the third time through is pretty much pointless.
Any way, the second time through is all right, but the maps become familiar and there are no surprises.
That was really weak.
As other have mentioned, there are three difficulties and after you beat it once, you just play the whole thing again but with one more party member.
How hard could it be to ensure that all members get on the same lift.
The third time through is downright mechanical.
I think the game at this point should be called "left click." I found myself just chewing through monsters waiting to get items that were slightly better than the ones I had so that I could chew through slightly tougher monsters.
The bottom line is that the game gets extremely flat very quickly.
The game is rather beautiful, but by the second and third time through, the thrill is gone and the beauty fades.
If that kind of game bores you out of your mind, then avoid this game at all costs. This is basically a hack and slash game, which essentially means that you want be using much brainpower or reflexes. The gameplay is simply clicking on an enemy and waiting for your character and said party to destroy it, while frequently giving them potions of various sorts. But if you enjoy the action rpg genre like diablo, this provides hours of entertainment. Personally, I enjoyed the story and setting - the game is extremely linear, but that is not much of a handicap because the huge number of areas you will travel through.
I got the game from J&R Music and Computer World through amazon, It did not come with a CD Key, so I Cannot rate the game. All I have now is a set of 6 Coasters for my drinks. The box looks nice though.
Gsme is in the traditional sense of tru D&D. The lvling and skills are done within the conscripts of the paper game rules. Movement and interface are a little rough to use but over all useable.
Well Dungeon Siege 2 was a pretty good game, but not as good as the original Dungeon Siege. The Deluxe Edition came on 6 Cd's total: 4 for the main game, 1 for the expansion pack, and 1 bonus disk. I especially didn't like the new camera angles; but that's just me. The actual package was good. It probably would've benefited from being on PC-DVD. In all, not bad and I recommend it.
